Welcome to SkillUpSmart. These Terms & Conditions explain how you may use our website, purchase our educational products and access the resources and services we provide.

Please read them before placing an order. By purchasing a product, creating an account or using our website, you agree to the terms that apply to your use or purchase. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

About SkillUpSmart

SkillUpSmart provides accounting and bookkeeping education, including revision guides, practice questions, downloadable Excel workbooks, study materials and related learning resources.

SkillUpSmart may also provide professional accounting and bookkeeping services. Where applicable, those services will be subject to separate engagement terms.

Using Our Website

You may browse our website and purchase available products for lawful purposes.

You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access, distribute malicious software or use its content in ways that infringe intellectual property rights.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect our website, customers or business.

Our Educational Products

SkillUpSmart offers digital educational resources, which may include:

  • Accounting revision guides and reference sheets

  • Multiple-choice questions and practice exercises

  • Downloadable Excel workbooks and accounting templates

  • Answer booklets and worked solutions

  • Bundles containing several educational resources

  • Online lessons or courses, where available

Each product page will explain what is included, its price and the relevant file format.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, our products are supplied electronically. No physical materials will be posted.

Orders and Payments

Product prices are displayed on the website in the currency shown at checkout.

Any applicable taxes and additional charges will be identified before you confirm your purchase.

Payments are processed through the payment providers made available at checkout. SkillUpSmart does not require customers to send payment card details directly by email.

When you place an order, you agree to provide accurate information necessary to complete the transaction and deliver your purchase.

An order confirmation will be sent to the email address provided.

If an obvious pricing or product-description error is identified before an order is accepted, we will contact you where appropriate. We will not charge a different price without your agreement.

Digital Product Delivery

Digital products are normally made available through a download link, an order-confirmation email or your customer account, depending on the product and website functionality.

Please ensure that your email address is correct and check your spam folder if your purchase confirmation does not arrive.

You are responsible for having suitable software to open and use the purchased files. For example, Excel workbooks may require a compatible spreadsheet application.

Where relevant, compatibility requirements will be described on the product page.

If you experience difficulty downloading or accessing a purchased product, please contact us using the email address in Section 1.

Digital Products — Cancellation and Refund Policy

All SkillUpSmart revision guides, practice questions, Excel workbooks, templates and educational bundles are digital products delivered electronically.

You will lose your right to cancel once the digital content is supplied.

Once digital content has been supplied, SkillUpSmart does not offer refunds for change of mind, including where you:

  • No longer require the purchased material.

  • Have purchased the wrong product.

  • Have changed your study plans.

  • Decide not to use or complete the material.

Please review the product description, contents and file requirements carefully before purchasing.

If you experience difficulties downloading or opening a purchased file, please contact us and  we will provide reasonable assistance to help you access your purchase.

Intellectual Property

The original educational content, written explanations, exercises, graphics, product designs and other materials created for SkillUpSmart are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Ownership of the underlying intellectual property does not transfer to you when you purchase a product.

Third-party names, software names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Educational Information and Professional Qualifications

SkillUpSmart educational materials are designed to support learning and understanding of accounting and bookkeeping.

We aim to prepare resources that reflect established accounting principles and relevant introductory learning objectives.

However, educational content may be simplified for teaching purposes, and accounting standards, tax rules, examination syllabuses and professional requirements can change.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, SkillUpSmart resources are independently developed and are not official publications of, or endorsed by, AAT, ACCA, CIMA or any other professional or examination body.

Purchasing or completing our resources does not guarantee examination success, professional qualification, employment or any particular business outcome.

Educational Content Is Not Personalised Accounting Advice

General explanations, examples, templates and educational resources on the website are provided for learning purposes.

They are not a substitute for advice based on your individual financial, tax or business circumstances.

You should not rely on a general educational example as the sole basis for preparing statutory accounts, filing tax returns or making material financial decisions.

Professional Accounting and Bookkeeping Services

SkillUpSmart may offer services such as bookkeeping, financial reporting, accounts preparation and tax-related support.

Professional services will only be undertaken following agreement on the scope of work, fees, responsibilities and applicable engagement terms.

Any quotation, consultation request or enquiry submitted through the website does not, by itself, establish a professional adviser–client relationship.

Where required, identity verification, anti-money-laundering checks and other onboarding procedures must be completed before work begins.

The terms governing an agreed professional engagement will take precedence over these website Terms in relation to that engagement.

Accuracy and Updates

We take reasonable care in preparing and presenting our educational products.

If we identify a material error, we may issue a correction or updated version of the affected resource.

We may also revise products to improve explanations, update examples or reflect changes in accounting requirements.

Unless expressly stated in the product description, purchasing a downloadable resource does not include an entitlement to all future editions or updates.

Website Availability

We aim to keep SkillUpSmart accessible and functioning properly.

Occasionally, access may be interrupted by maintenance, technical issues or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We will take reasonable steps to resolve problems affecting access to purchased resources.

We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of every website feature, but this does not affect your statutory rights or our contractual obligations.

Customer Accounts

If customer accounts are available, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

Please provide accurate registration information and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend an account where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, security concerns or serious breaches of these Terms.

Any such action will be proportionate and will not remove statutory consumer rights.
